YOUR ALEXA SETUP GUIDE
A familiar routine.
Ready when you are.
You’ll need an Amazon Echo, Wi-Fi, and the Amazon Alexa app on your phone. A separate Minds24 mobile app isn’t needed.
Download the Amazon Alexa app
Connect your Echo.
Plug it in and open the Amazon Alexa app. In Devices, choose the add button, then Add Device and Amazon Echo. Follow the app’s steps to connect to Wi-Fi.
Use the same Amazon account for your Echo and the Alexa app.
Choose US English.
Open your Echo’s device settings in the Alexa app and set its language to English (United States). Check the time zone in your Minds24 account too; it determines the day of your assessment.
Enable Minds24 and link your account.
Open the Minds24 skill page and choose Enable to Use. Create a Minds24 account or sign in, complete your profile, and review the connection before choosing Connect Alexa.
Link the account of the person taking the assessments. Your answers, progress, and results will be saved to that account. You can manage the connection and your permissions in Settings.
Start your Minds24 Assessment
“Alexa, open Minds Twenty Four.”
Find a quiet spot and begin your daily check-in. Minds24 will ask you to confirm your Echo’s general location and guide you through the assessment one question at a time.
The assessment includes 10 cognitive tasks, 10 daily health questions, and 2 mental well-being questions. Some cognitive tasks have several parts. For the daily health questions, all available answer choices are read aloud and your response is confirmed.
Make it comfortable.
- “Repeat” or “Choices”
- Hear the question and available answers again.
- “Speak slower”
- Keep Minds24’s warm voice and slow the pace.
- “Pause” / “Resume”
- Take a break and continue when you’re ready. If Alexa closes the session, open Minds24 again later the same day to continue from saved progress. A new day starts a new check-in.
- “No” or “Change my answer”
- Correct what Minds24 heard before moving on.
- “Skip” / “Cancel”
- Leave a question unanswered or end the check-in. A skipped question is not treated as an incorrect answer.
If Alexa cuts you off, open More → Settings → Accessibility → Adaptive Listening Mode in the Alexa app and enable it for your Echo, if available. It gives you more time to finish speaking.
Amazon’s Adaptive Listening guideChoose a daily time.
To schedule a start, create an Alexa Routine in the Alexa app: More → Routines → Add. Choose a daily schedule as the trigger, then add Minds24 from Skills → Your Skills as the action. Choose the Echo you’ll use and save the routine.
If Minds24 is not offered as a routine action on your account, start it with the spoken phrase above. A time selected in our account preferences does not schedule a check-in or reminder.

After your check-in
Minds24 provides separate results for cognitive performance, daily health, and mental well-being. Your results are designed to help you stay aware of changes over time and support conversations with your healthcare professional. Minds24 results are not a diagnosis and should not be used on their own to make medical decisions.
Your check-in is saved to History. Choose assessment emails in Settings, and manage caregiver access and notifications in your Care circle. Incomplete or missed check-ins remain unscored. Additional completed check-ins on the same day are kept separate from your daily result.
